As President of Santa Ynez Valley Real Estate Company since 1992, Mr. Jones has led the company to impressive gains in total sales and sales per agent, especially during the slower real estate market of the early and mid 1990's. At age 29, Mr. Jones became the youngest recipient of the Realtor of the Year Award and also the youngest President of the Santa Ynez Valley Board of Realtors. Mr. Jones grew up on a ranch in Gaviota, and has been a resident of the valley since 1965. Mr. Jones attended the University of Illinois, where he graduated with honors in 1987, and was selected as the single most outstanding senior in the College of Agriculture. Starting his career in 1988, Mr. Jones learned the hands on aspects of residential, income, and commercial property. Carefully balancing his career with community involvement, Mr. Jones has been Chairman of the Solvang Theaterfest, Board Director of the Solvang Conference and Visitor's Bureau, and 2000-01 President of the Solvang Rotary Club. After graduating from Santa Ynez Valley Union High School in 1991, Dave’s combination of athleticism, discipline, and intelligence caught the attention of professional football scouts where Dave eventually made it to the National Football League. After excelling as one of the Canadian Football League’s most versatile players being the first player in 42 years to start on both offense and defense. As wide receiver and defensive back for the Toronto Agonauts, the Indianapolis Colts signed Dave as receiver for quarterback Peyton Manning in the NFL. After an unfortunate set of shoulder injuries ended his professional football career, Dave says it was all worth it because on the way he met his beautiful wife Catherine, a native of Toronto, Canada. Our native son, Dave, returned to start a family in the valley where the next generation of his family began in 2005 with the birth of their daughter Jayda. Dave’s experience traveling around North America and growing up in the valley gives him a perspective that benefits his clients.
